Q1.What type of screen does the device use?

A:We uses the 6inch E-Ink screen with 600 x 800 pixel resolution, 16-level gray scale.

 

Q2.What is e-ink display?

A:E-Ink is a type of electronic paper manufactured by E Ink Corporation, founded in 1997 based on research started at the MIT Media Lab.

On June 1, 2009, E Ink Corporation announced an agreement to be purchased by one of its primary business partners, Prime View International, for USD$215 million.

E-ink can be used on many of the same surfaces as regular ink.

One obvious use of this technology is digital books. Digital books could be displayed with e ink, allowing readers to store many books on a single device while creating a reading experience that is very similar to reading regular ink printed on regular paper. 

 

Q3.What is the advantage of e-ink display?

A: Give the reader the true book-like experience, without causing eye strain;

Viewable under a wide range of lighting conditions, including direct sunlight

Ultra-low power consumption and long battery life, require power only when the display is changed

 

Q4. How long the battery last after charging? Does the battery can be replaced by the user?

A:It can support the power for turning not less than 5000 pages.

The product adopts an internal rechargeable lithium battery(1200MAH),user can not replace it.

 

Q5.Does it has internal memory?

A:Our EB-0600S model has no internal memory.

 

Q6.Does it has touch screen?

A:No.

 

Q7.Can I use EB-0600S USB connector to plug other devices (pc,camera, printer, keyboard, mouse...)?

A:No. The Hivision E-book EB-0600S USB only used as power charging. You can connect it to your PC via the provided USB cable to charge the unit,but you can not download files to the unit through the PC.

 

Q8.How heavy is it?

A:It weighs 258g(battery included).

 

Q9.It appears to be broken or locked up, what shall I do?

A:Use something sharp such as a pen to press the "Reset"button on the back side of it, this will reset the device (Note that resetting the device will not change the settings you did previously). Press the "Power"button again to turn the device on. Feel free to contact us if you still have problems.

 

Q10.Which buttons are available on the device?

A:Power On/Off,Page forward/page backward two sides,10 multi-functional keys.

 

Q11.Which cards are suitable for use with it?

A:EB-0600S supports SD and MMC cards with the capacity from 256M to 8G.

Q1. How to download the books (files) to the eReader?

A:The books or files can be directly downloaded to the SD or MMC card through a computer.

 

Q2. Does it support play music while reading an ebook?

A:Yes, it can play music while you are reading an eBook, but you need to make sure to turn on the music firstly , then open an ebook without turning off the music.

 

Q3.Does it support Wifi or 3G?

A:Our EB-0600S model does not support Wifi or 3G,and our next model will support Wifi and 3G.

 

Q4.What are the formats that EB-0600S supports?

A:Now, EB-0600S supports TXT、PDF、PDB、HTML、CHM、RTF、FB2、EPUB、TCR、DJVU、BMK、PRC、MOBI、E PUB、OPF formats of e-book,MP3 format of audio file,JPEG、BMP、PNG、GIF、TIFF formats of photo files.

 

Q5.What languages does the device support?

A:So far, the EB-0600S menus are only available in    English,Chinese,Russian,French,Deutsch,Italian,Spanish,Portuguese,Netherlands.

However it does allow you to read any document or eBook written in any language.

 

Q6.Can I connect EB-0600S to my PC?

A:You can connect it to charge the power, but you can not download files directly to the unit through the PC.

 

Q7.Can additional software or programs be installed on the E-book EB-0600S?

A:No, additional software or programs cannot be installed on the Reader.

 

Q8.How many books can I store in my E-book EB-0600S?

A:You can store your books and other files in a 2G or 8G SD or MMC card,the amount of books is about 10,000 or even more,it depends on the capacity of the card and the size of e-book files.

 

How to care for it?

Q1. On Safety

A:Do not use the adapter in a high moisture environment. Never touch the adapter when your hands or feet are wet.

Be sure not to short-circuit the terminals of the EB-0600S with metallic objects.

To avoid losing data due to electrostatic discharges or other types of events, it is recommended that you regularly save and backup data.

The built-in rechargeable battery of the EB-0600S is recyclable. Do not remove the battery yourself.

 

Q2. On Cleaning

A:Clean the case of the EB-0600S with a soft, lint-free cloth.

If the case of the EB-0600S becomes very dirty, clean it with a soft cloth slightly moistened with water or a mild detergent solution.

Be careful not to let water get into the EB-0600S device.

 

Q3.Is it fragile?

A:Yes, it is,since it is E-Ink screen.Please handle it with care.

 

Q4.What is the optimal environment condition for EB-0600S use?

A:Operate it between 0 and 40 o C. Avoid direct sunlight and dithering. Avoid high temperature and wet places.

Q2.How long should it take to get familiar with EB-0600S?

A:EB-0600S has a simple and neat user interface with well organized menus and buttons. In general, first time EB-0600S users will become familiar with EB-0600S within 1 or 2 days.

 

Q3.I travel a lot. What will I do with my Hivision E-book EB-0600S?

 A:How many books and magazines can you put in your travel bag? How many books did you renounce to take with you because of the weight? Once arrived to destination, what do you do when you reach the last page of your last book?

If you have E-book EB-0600S with you, you will be able to carry with you all the books you want.

 

Q4.How much light do I need in order to read the content on it?

A:You need to provide sufficient light to read eBooks on EB-0600S as you would normally require reading printed books, newspaper and magazines.

 

Q5.I like paper books. Why should I use the Hivision E-book EB-0600S?
